The Road Rat, Edition 21: A Love Letter to Formula 1

Celebrating 75 years of Formula 1, The Road Rat’s 21st Edition is a landmark issue honouring the sport’s enduring legacy. Continuing our creative partnership with Benedict Redgrove, we retouched his compelling photography to showcase The Richard Mille Collection - balancing light, shadow, dirt and colour across 21 stills to reveal each car’s raw, retro essence, each a striking visual chapter in The Road Rat’s ongoing love letter to Formula 1.

When The Road Rat asked INK to collaborate on the cover for this special edition, the challenge was clear: distil 75 years of history into one iconic helmet. Working closely with the Road Rat team, we modelled and co-designed the helmet that fronts Edition No. 21. Featuring bold, retro-inspired graphics, vibrant fluro colourways, and nods to heritage details like the Rattino and a Piquet-inspired ‘75’, the design balances nostalgia with modern precision. Every surface, reflection and detail was carefully crafted - INK’s seal on The Road Rat’s love letter to Formula 1.
